There is what we may call a boom in infrastructure development in Zambia. However, it appears that much of the infrastructure especially road and water do not respond to current and immediate future urban cruises such as acute short of infrastructural services in urban slums. Research in this theme will seek to identify the dynamics and prospects of ensuring an infrastructure investment and development agenda that responds to the needs of the urban masses. Financing, design and management aspects of urban infrastructure form crucial aspects of research in this them. Research in urban transport systems forms a critical component of this theme.
