The Centre for Urban Research and Planning (CURP) is a transdisciplinary research initiative seeking to advance the frontiers of knowledge on urbanisation and the environment in Zambia and Sub-Saharan Africa. CURP was formed to fill knowledge and information gaps that have been systematically created over the years in Zambia and in the region due to lack of dedicated and coordinated research in urbanisation and spatial planning. The Centre was established to undertake cutting-edge research to provide easy to use and reliable information on different aspects of cities in Zambia and the region. The Centre accords particular emphasis on defensible and policy relevant research to inform a sustainable human settlements development discourse.
